At TJIS the whole day is full of activities and student have frolic and fun in learning. Students have a passion / instinct towards vibrant colors, music and innovative ideas. When they come across real life pictures and activities they become more inquisitive and then explore and unleash their minds to meet the objectives of real learning. Co – Curricular Activities are an integral part of curricular, the blend of positive approach and synchronous thinking with children makes the hands on practical knowledge more enjoyable.

Learning Resource Centre – The LRC is equipped with a rich collection of educational materials and the modern hi –tech. facilities, Is the centre of attraction of students as well as parents. Here students are facilitated with effective tools to learn / research and are nurtured well to inculculate the habit of life long learning.

Remedial Centre

Practice doesn’t make a man perfect but the right practice makes a man perfect under a proper guidance. In order to bring the slow learners at par with other students a special slot on every Saturday of 3 hrs is allotted for utmost attention of their facilitators. They are called in Remedial Centre to clarify their doubts and they can have counseling sessions also with a prior appointment. An expert counselor is therein appointed to sense pulse of students and parents who actually need guidance. Once the node of distraction is diagnosed the students go beyond the estimated level of learning and literally surprise even the subject teacher’s concerned.

Science Lab

Science is a systemic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanations and prediction. To cater the needs of hands on learning for highest of understanding and to make the conceptual knowledge better a platform in the form of science lab is set up like a work station where student feel the privileged when a task is completed. It also helps to incorporate the experience in other real life situations.

The ultra modern science laboratory will provide a platform for students to nurture the budding scientist. To enhance its utility labs are provided with the State of devices such as Emergency shower / eye wash unit, fire fighting equipments, First Aid Kit etc. The students will be encouraged to develop their skills in practical science and to learn scientific theories through their own experimentation. Our aim is to ensure student see Science not just as applying theory but as a subject where they can derive theories themselves by doing experiments on their own.

JUNIOR SCIENCE PARK: Many interactive play cum scientific models are displayed for the children to motivate them to create their own models from readily available materials at home. It also includes some games which help in nurturing the budding scientists in an informed way.

Social Science Lab

Social Science is taught in many interesting ways via activities, maps, videos, sketches, globe and several catchy presentations. Models and samples of different types of rocks and minerals, solar system, physical features of India,tectonic movements, volcanic eruptions make the lab more lively. Virtual concepts are made lively and provides firsthand experience of history and geography in a manner that students are likely to retain the subjects better.

Computer Lab

Technology has the potential to mould our lives for the better. The use of modern educational technology makes learning more interactive and accessible to young minds. Technology can’t replace the educator’s human touch, but it can aid the educator to become a facilitator. Young kids from grade I unleash their minds in form of vibrant colors on the screen with interesting exercises and games. A computer lab with 24X7 internet access facility for school with about 150 educational rooms and several applications from the internet are accessed by students in the computer lab as integral part of the curriculum.

The School has computer Labs with the modern and latest software. Students will get exposed to multimedia Lab, interactive teaching aids, OHP, LCD projectors, audio visual media which will make the class more lively and interesting. The labs are divided into senior and junior labs for the students to be more comfortable with the techniques of Computers.

Mathematics Lab

The Lab offers opportunities for the children to count, make patterns, shapes, measure where it reinforces the right ambience for learning the subject. The arena make them importance as “Budding Mathematicians “. They experience hands on practical knowledge under the guidance of subject expertise to learn concepts, verify facts and prove theorems through activities and experimentation. A high degree of efforts are “INPUT” by giving them a chance to perform activities, projects and brain storming sessions to get the same level of “OUTPUT”.

One block period of Maths Lab per week is alloted in the time table and student look forward to this with a great deal of enthusiasm and stimulation. The school has set up Mathematics Lab where students can learn and explore mathematical concepts using different materials which stimulates interest and develops favourable attitude towards Mathematics.

Our goal is to increase each student’s understanding the course material and develop physical involvement in order to add new ideas to their cognitive structure.

Language Work Station

The school offers ‘English as an Additional Language’ (EAL) Programmes. The sole purpose of these programmes is to assist students whose first language is not English.

Our EAL students, who come from many different places, often have varying levels of English which may be their second or third language. To most effectively assist these students, they are assessed upon entry into a school and then continually by their teachers as well as by a specialist EAL teacher. They are also monitored in all areas of listening, speaking, writing, reading and social awareness.

After a student has been assessed, the EAL teacher(s) will work with the student, parents, teaching assistants, teachers, curriculum coordinators and administrators to determine an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for the student. Parents are consulted and informed of both the type and duration of support offered. The student’s progress is regularly reported home via correspondence; in student-led conferences, parent-teacher conferences and regular assessments.

The language lab is well equipped to impart the knowledge of basic skills in English. Students will actively participate in the learning process with the help of Hi-Tech Audio Visual equipments for pronunciation, listening and the presentation skills and interactive language learning activity.

Life Skills Studio

One of the most challenging tasks confronting the parents is that of instilling within their children a proper set of values that will provide them with motivation and guidance throughout their lives. These universal values build character which produces behaviour that is beneficial for the individual, others and community life skills studio is a platform which will direct and drill them accordingly the core values of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control( 9 fruits of divine power). At CIS, the studio is given a monthly concept and themes to be infused in children with a great sense of responsibility andzeal to do many activities pertaining the same.

Multifaceted skills are also developed in life skills curriculum with few training sessions related to personal grooming leadership skills, health and hygiene, dining etiquettes, home keeping etc.
